Susanne Mengele set off to find traces of the artist. She followed the various stages in his life and the visions he had lived out there and captured in powerfully expressive paintings. Not only new works, but also loans from all over the world offer a glimpse into the intuitive spheres of Franco Thamér – in the ART thamér GALLERY, which has now become a homage to the artist.

Franco Thamér has lived out his life to the full – capturing the intense sensual impressions of his colourful and richly textured experiences in splendid colours, captivating in their harmony and enthralling in their magic and passion. The tactile structure of his paintings lends them vitality and entices the viewer to partake in the sensual pleasure of touching.

After staying in various places across the globe, Franco Thamér has found a home in Chiemgau. The closeness of the mountains and the familiar sound of the church bells give him a feeling of well being and the security of a cosy home.
